What should I wear?

Dress comfortably, appropriate for the weather. Brimmed hat recommended for front seat passenger once onboard. No loose items including hats around the helicopter.

Is there an age requirement?

Minimum 2 years old, but recommended age is 5 years or older. For younger passengers – please call. All passengers under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

How early should I arrive for my tour?

We recommend arriving fifteen minutes prior to your scheduled helicopter tour.

What is a pre-flight briefing?

Short introduction addressing the safety issues and procedures when approaching the helicopter and while in the helicopter.

Is there a weight limit?

Yes, the Robinson R-44 Raven 2 has a limit of 300 lbs per seat, seats 3, max total limit of 650 lbs. Seating arrangement is determined by the pilot, based on the passengers’ weights.

Can I talk to the pilot during the tour?

Yes, for longer tours except during take‐off and landing. You will be provided with a headset during flight that will allow you to hear the pilot and all other passengers. For short event rides your will be provided with ear protection, not headsets and will not be able to talk to the pilot.

What is the safety record?

MD Helicopter prides itself on an impeccable safety record. Our first priority is the safety of the passengers and crew.

How high do you fly?

We maintain a height of approximately 1200 feet above ground level. This allows for optimum views of the area while maintaining all safety levels set by the FAA.

Can I take pictures on my tour?

Unfortunately, no. Due to FAA regulations, helicopter ride and tour operators must return to the point of departure.

What is the impact of bad weather?

Low clouds, high winds, limited visibility and thunderstorms in the area will affect your flight, we try to give you as much notice as possible. There is no additional charge if your tour has to be rescheduled. We do not guarantee sun…

I am pregnant. Can I still take a tour?

Yes, if under 6 months along. It is recommended that you consult your doctor prior to booking your flight. Your doctor can also advise if flying after 6 months along is safe for you and baby.

Do you fly at night?

No. The tours are offered during daylight hours.

What methods of payment are accepted?

Cash or Credit. We accept all major credit cards.

Is there a charge if we have to reschedule our tour?

If you cancel within less than 48 hours until the scheduled tour there will be a 20% rescheduling fee.
